The New Generation Society of Lawrence (NGSL) is dedicated to providing its membership with opportunities to pursue life-long learning, stay active in the Lawrence community, and support local philanthropic causes.

NGSL's mission is to help its members stay entrenched in the stimulating environment provided by the University of Kansas, the Lawrence community, and the region. Its core membership is comprised of energetic, curious adults who seek increased opportunities to expand their intellectual and cultural horizons.

The only qualifications for membership are an interest in our programs and a willingness to pay both annual dues to cover our administrative costs and fees for any programs in which you choose to enroll.

Matt Dailey Welcomes You to NGSL

New Generation Society of Lawrence (NGSL) was formed in 1997 as a means of providing a wide variety of interesting and informative programs to our members.  Our activities include educational programs on both current and historical events.  We also have a philanthropic mission to help local agencies and organizations.  Today, these programs and activities are as entertaining and as valuable as ever before.

NGSL maintains a close relationship with the Watkins Museum of History in Lawrence, where we host most of our one hour programs.  As a general rule, our one-hour programs are held on weekdays, either mid-morning or mid-afternoon. We also work to keep our members aware of available programs offered by the Hall Center for the Humanities at KU.  Additionally, NGSL hosts four quarterly dinner/social events each year at various venues around the City of Lawrence.  (NGSL members will follow current masking guidelines, if applicable, for locations where events are held.)

NGSL recently adopted computer software making it easier for members to join us and enroll in our programs using your personal computer.  If your goal is to meet new people, stay abreast of what is happening in Lawrence, and enjoy a series of educational and entertaining programs, come join us today!

What Programs Does NGSL Offer?

The Program Committee works to provide popular, diverse, and stimulating learning and outreach opportunities to members.  A new program schedule is offered each fall and spring.  Pre-registration is required for all programs.  Since NGSL is not-for-profit, all programs are self-supporting.
